Carmen has over 20 years of experience in public health leadership, consultation, and partnership management. Carmen served as an Epidemiologist and Health Scientist for 10 years at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) where she focused on built environment strategies and policies to increase physical activity. She has previously served as Chief of Social Impact and Strategic Impact for the civil rights and equity grounded public health nonprofit, GirlTrek, where she supported over 30 multisector partner relationships. Carmen has led numerous technical assistance projects for state and local federal grantees.
